Sat 3/29 Sew-in

Post by sewcarolyn » Sat Mar 29, 2008 11:04 am

Hi I thought I'd pop in and say HI but nobody is here...guess those sewing machines are humming today.
I went to JoAns with my daughter, she bought a pattern and we picked up fabric for an apron for one of her roommates. Then we went to a great craft store that has a quilting section and bought a pattern for an overnight bag. (and I bought 2 F4s)

Now we are home she is napping and I should too we are attending a concert tonight at the Orange County Performing Arts Center..well I am attending and she is working, she gets to escort a guest composer.
maybe I will sew on SBS for awhile and then nap...
have a great afternoon and evening I will check in later.

Hi, Sewcarolyn! It's been forever since I checked in, but I have been sewing. I put the binding on a scrappy bargello quilt this afternoon and it is now ready for the final hand-work. Unfortunately, while I am completing one UFO, I've added 2 classes in the last 2 weeks, so now have 2 new UFOs!

I need to get back to my sewing so I will see you. I am still putting blocks for the block lotto together.

Carolyn, do look in Chit Chat about the International Quilt Festival. It will be soooo very close to us! have fun at the concert!

Sew-dreamer - I don't think that your new ones are really UFO's yet. LOL. I think when you have forgotten them for more that three months they become UFO's. Where are you taking classes?

I'll be checking in throughout the night. I'm finishing a couple of applique blocks for the breast cancer quilts & then I'm off to work on the Wizard of Oz quilts.

:)

Hi there ALL you sweet ladies.

TwoFlower, it is too early here to think about dinner yet.
Carolyn have fun (after you had a restfull nap)
Sew-Dreamer, picture of your Bargello quilt please?
Quilter7 thank you for the longbeach post, and we'll C U 2. :)
MeQ, what does a Wizard of OZ. quilt look like? Do you have Dorothy in Kansas?

I did try to take a nap earlier, Pepper even came to snuggle up to me as soon as I laid down. But then I got too restless, I was thinking about what project to work on tomorrow with Staci. Her very first quilt/sew day. I am sure I still need her to sew 1/4" seams first.
She did mention to start with a pillow case. That won't be too tough, and 1/4" are not to crucial for that.

Has anyone seen (((Kadie Roo))) lately, or heard from her?

*T*

Hi Susanna. I was just thinking about kadie also. Haven't seen her around lately. I'm at work, but it's been pretty quiet so far. Hopefully it will stay that way. Lori

Hi Gals,

I'm feeling kinda lousy today :( Achey, stuffy & no energy. I put all plans on hold, took a shower & have been chillin today.

I did make a big roast beef dinner, which is easy-peasy in honour of my Sidnee's memory. She was my first Mastiff. Today would have been her 13th birthday. We lost her nearly 3 years ago. I always made her a roast beef dinner on her birthday :)

I have a boat load of new fabric to wash but haven't had the energy to do it. I did pink the edges & sort by lights, meds & darks.

I'm watching The Matrix---AGAIN!!! LOL I love that movie.

What are you gals up to?

xo

Susana how are you feeling today? You sound as though you are feeling better (in spirit at least). :)

Carin - How is your DH and children today? Hope you are all better soon.

Caren - it sounds like you are resting. Are you drinking lots of fluids? Hope you feel better soon.

I finished the blocks. I made a meat sauce for pasta tonight so that is bubbling away on the range top. I need to set up the machine so I can practice machine quilting. Talk to you later!
