I've never had to deal with hospice. We wanted to get them involved for my Mom last year but the Dr thought we had lots of time for that. Unfortunately that wasn't the case but everything was very peaceful for her. I think next month will be a rough one, it'll be the 1 year anniversary & I'm not looking forward to it.

Hopefully I'll never have to deal with either of those circumstances on the job. I did switch to another branch that has much better security....that makes me feel safer.

I always say that when you lose a parent or someone that was like a parent....It is never easy to be an orphan, no matter how old you are and that is the truth.

:)

MeQ, those 1 year marks and so many other times can be very rough on you. For 10 years I always took the boys out of school the day their father died. We do a memory lane, talked a lot, and usually did a walk along a the beach, besides going out to eat together. At the 10 year mark they were fine with it all, so we turned it around and did something totally different. We rented Sea Doo's for an hour and just had a blast. They only had funny stories left to tell during dinner about their dad.

When the family was all over at Christmas time my kids & nephews were telling stories about how they remembered little things that she did for them. To this day my daughter still cuts her toast into triangles, just like Nana did. I find myself doing the same thing.
