One more time around the binding and I'm DONE!! I've already gone around twice, and continue to miss the edge...decided to heck with the stitch in the ditch and the stitch next to the stitch in the ditch, I'm turning this puppy over and stitching the edge down! Binding might not look too great, but oh well! I have to cut myself a little slack, this will be my first finished quilt!

Thanks for the encouragement Alina -- this baby quilt is for the Grandparents when their new granddaughter comes to visit. The grandparents have 4 boys, no daughters. A couple of years ago, one of their son's and his wife had their 1st grandchild -- a baby girl. Something developed or didn't develope, any way, the baby died at 3 days old. So this is their first living grandbaby and a very special little girl she is!!

Grandparents are kind of left out -- the oohs and ahhs and gifts are given to the mommie's (& sometimes daddy's) and new babies, as well it should be, but grandparents are pretty special people so I thought it would be nice to think of the grandparents. I kind of do the same thing for baby showers and mommies. Almost always, the new baby gets tons of stuff but Mommies and even more rarely Daddys, are overlooked. So I will include a small gift for just Mommie (bubble bath, lotion, etc) just so she will still feel a little special -- I guess now I need to think about something small for the daddy too <g>.

Anyway, I'll take some pictures of this quilt tomorrow before wrapping her up! Sure glad she is done! Happy Trails, jacquie

Jacquie- I think that is very nice of you to make the blanket for the grandparents to have when the baby visits... they too often get left out! I bet they are just thrilled about the baby girl!
