My stash has really grown since I've joined this forum. With all the great sales and swaps it's quite large. Not in the same category as the Queens, but quite respectable! But, in all that stash, I don't have any muslin. Kona, but no muslin. Oh well, Linda Hostelley and I are doing our own shop hopping today so I will just put that on my list. What's a material girl to do! Do have plenty of batiks though.

I'm glad you mentioned starting with a 7" block. I think I will not square it up to be on the safe side.

I have to stop after work tomorrow for unbleached muslin. I went to make this block last night and I didn't have one scrap of muslin - scheesh! I'll make the block tomorrow night and get it and $$$ in the mail on Friday.

Is there a difference between unbleached muslin and Kona? I've not used the muslin before but have plenty of Kona.

Have Fun,

I'm going to sew the blocks together so will make a list of those needing my address and pm you today (for those I haven't already sent to). I am happily off work today so get to sew sew sew!!

Also, I was going to use my Kona for the center.

Maggie, I need your address, also.

Kona is quite a bit different from unbleached muslin. Muslin is a looser weave and more textured.

Edited: No shopping required..found my regular muslin.

Looks like I will need to make a fabric run too...I don't have any unbleached muslin. Thanks Joanne!

If we want to make nore than one block, we sign one and do what with the others? I think we may need to make more than one each to have enough for a quilt since these are small blocks.

Update here...I've sent pm's w/my address to 27 block makers. If I've missed anyone, let me know. I'll check for new names too. I've made myself a handy excel spread sheet to keep track of the particulars.

Evie has offered to send fabric for the center of the quilt top which will look really nice with the batiks (if that is okay with everyone).

If we don't have enough blocks for what we need I can whip up extras (since they are soooo easy) and embroider a heart or small flower in the centers. If anyone wants to make extras and leave the centers blank I can do the same with them.

If anyone has any questions I can help with just let me know!!

Maggie
