I looked and will make a couple of blocks.
So we are to send the blocks to Maggie, right?
Do we just sign one block and leave the others blank?
Hugs

Okay, here comes "the confused one". The pattern link I went to is for 12 inch block. Can someone clear or stear me how to do the 6 inch block. What am I not seeing?
Also, what is the deadline for the blocks?
Thanks bunches, carol/kittyquilt

kittyquilt, don't feel bad I did the same thing. Scroll down and (ta da)!!! read the instructions. It shows the 6" finished block. I just figured that out. Turns out really cute.
Just want to know what color are we doing in the middle white muslin?
Didn't think I had time to make a block, but this one is easy.

In a previous post, she said unbleached muslin with batiks.

Since this is a signature quilt, I assume everyone will sign the blocks? I also assume that it is okay to embroider them? I thought we might should include our forum names, correct. Since I offered to do a label, can someone let me know what we need to include on it? I can do a label on muslin and include it with my block, if I know what to put on it. Thanks, to everyone that is working on this. This is the first project I have gotten involved with.

Sign, embroider, write a messge, it's up to you what you put in the center. Just make sure the blocks measure 6 inches finished.

What is the center measurement (the muslin). I know it is 6 1/2 inches long, or I am assuming it is. How wide is it?

I experimented with some leftovers last night and found that using a 7" square for the center and 4" squares for the corners trims up nicely to 6 1/2". When I started with a 6 1/2 " square and 3 1/2 corners I was a little shy on one side..or it could have been my seams.
I checked with Lori...we need to at least use washed muslin centers so the writing won't fade. If you don't think the batiks will bleed no need to wash those.
I will be happy to do the squaring so no need to worry about trimming them down.
Thanks everyone!!
Maggie
