Fly into San Diego, don't fly too late in the day, because it is REALLY tough to find that camp in the dark.

Carin-San Diego is closer but John Wayne and Long Beach aren't hard to get in and out of. I live 7 minutes from Long Beach Airport (I have timed it...Izzy left her wallet and cell phone and we had to fly back to get it to her before she took off) You would have to factor in the rental car too unless you link up with a Southern Cal lady

LAx is a mess but you may get a better flight
JetBlue flies into both SD and Long Beach
