CaroleJ....I love living in the boonies (except for the driving in the wintertime). It's peaceful, the stars at night are gorgeous & you can go outside in your pj's and nobody knows!! We've got 41.5 acres here and you need a minimum of 35 in order to build. So at least for awhile we won't have any subdivisions springing up nearby. Everyone looks out for another and we all pitch in when someone needs help.

Oasis - Thanks for posting the camel pictures. I did not know there were camels in California and I have lived here most of my life.

MeQ, I thought DH had lost his mind when he told me about this parcel since it's 46 acres...say WHAT?! But I kept praying about it, asking for Divine Guidance and Higher Good, and all the pieces began falling into place...we hope to close escrow on Wednesday...

The owner says we can expect a few days of temps over 100 and a few nights in the 20's, and even a dusting of snow now and then...!

I may need to pick your brain about life in the boonies! I have lived out in the sticks, but it was for a short time, and it was MANY years ago!

Hi Ladies - Just stopping by for a minute then have to go mow the wonderful yard. I just love all the pictures that have been posted so far from Paducah. Really makes me wish I could be there, but there is always next year :o)

Have you ever pulled out a UFO, only to realize you may have gone overboard with the yardage--? Sheesh, I have two yards of red, a yard and a half of green, and two yards of the print...not to mention the black and white for the border that's in the washer, two or three yards of that, easy...! Guess I was afraid I'd run out!

Hi Littlebit! Glad to hear you are having nice enough weather to get outside and mow...! From what I've read here, it has been a loooong winter in many areas and everyone is more than ready for spring and summer.

Hi everyone. Sorry I missed out last night. Sounds like you all had a blast.

Welcome to the group Ruth. Hope you stick around and have fun with us.

I'm working on a UFO I started a few years back. I've been working on T-blocks this round. It's a month by month quilt from Quilters News Magazine. I thought it was a great idea 4 years ago, but I may have been wrong. lol Looks like our forum friends are having a blast in KY. Can't wait to hear all stories. Lori

I decided to be a good girl, so I just got done cleaning out the 'fridge. Amazing how condiments on the top shelf can just sit unnoticed for who knows how long...found a bottle of salad dressing so old I couldn't read the expiration date, and it was sort of clotted----eeeeew! Gunk down the disposal, plastic bottle to recycle bin!

Filled up the dishpan with plastic containers and Bell jars (having disposed of contents). They are all having a soak in hot, soapy water.
