That Iowagal had a jump-start on all of ya!! She gave me her two stockings at the DM quilt show...hand-delivered!! (Now that's special...but then, Sharon's a special kind of gal!)

And speaking of 'special'...another wonderful forum member sent three stockings to share with the service men and women. Quiltwithmom (Kathy) sent in two beautiful striped stockings in R/W/B and her other stocking was made from fabric that had Sunbonnet Sue on skis surrounded by snowmen and pine trees! Cute!

And my students are still bringing in items to share with the service men & women. One clever mom thought of donating Word Search magazines, decks of cards, and dice to help fill their time. Another family sent stationery, envelopes, and stamps! Another well-thought out donation was Chapstick, lotion, and sunscreen! One family donated several boxes of Christmas cards. I am so very proud of my students' families as they continue to show their support to our area service men & women.

Aaaahhhh- life is grand! :-)

Mine are going out today. Just wanted to take a minute to say Thank you to you and your class for taking the time to show our servicemen that we care about them. And especially to you Marcia for teaching your kids to 'give back' to those that have sacrificed so much for us.
THANK YOU

I received Abbigail's three stockings today and I just have to tell ya how clever that gal is! She used a printed panel to make her stockings and they had me fooled! I thought she had made three "real" Crazy Patch stockings, but they had been made with 'cheater's cloth'!!!!!!!! (A quilting friend of mine always corrects me when I say "Cheater's Cloth". Instead she prefers to call that fabric "Advantage Cloth"!!!! LOL)
Abbigail- your machine quilting around the patches really make your stockings very attractive! Thanks so much! Hugs~Marcia

I received Luv_2Quilt's stockings and they are gorgeous! The cardinals, holly, and poinsettia fabrics are very rich looking (especially when you add strips of deep gold fabric along side them)! I bet you are excited for your brother to return from Iraq! November won't come soon enough for your family!
Hugs & appreciation~Marcia

Maryq sent me a box filled with spiral notebooks (regular sized and some even a wee bit smaller), individual packages of Kleenixes, bags of individual servings of Skittles and Mike & Ike candies, and ....a GAZILLION ink pens!!!!! (That woman has an inside track with a sales rep of medical supplies!) ;-) You're the 'BOMB', Mary!
I also received two beautiful stockings from Sandy5689. Both were made from the cutest holiday printed fabric. I love the snowmen with the evergreen trees! Even the fabric that looks like a Christmas collage will bring a smile to any service man or woman's face! Thank you for showing your support to the troops! KUDOS to you! Hugs~Marcia

I received your four stockings, Traci! My students really loved the Christmas fabrics you used for the strips, but their favorite print was the fabric with the gingerbread men on it! *smile* The green star fabric and burgandy & cream plaid sure made great backings for your stockings! Thanks so much for sewing up these stockings! We are getting closer to our goal of 40 stockings! (We are up to 23 now!) Hugs~Marcia
