I'm so excited! I just found out a little while ago that DD got accepted into the Roberts Wesleyan Honor Band! Roberts Wesleyan is a collage here in NY. Being acepted into their honor band is like being picked for All State!

Okay, I'd best go work on my RR for a while. I really want to get it finished tonight. I'll be back soon. :)

Thank you! She was hoping for this and she got it! And her BFF also got selected, they were the only ones picked from their school. :)

Lee, what a thrill for your daughter and her friend... and how great they will be going into it together. can't wait to see the paper piece pattern.... sounds interesting.

Tul, I knew apple flappen was going to be some kind of fried apple.... gosh, it sounds so so good... I just love apples, like apple pie, apple anything.....Bet you're glad you didn't go to Yosemite just yet..... what weather huh?

I am using a template and a chalk marker.... 36 times in one direction and 36 times in the other.... If I can get them all traced tonight I can get them cut out tomorrow.....Guess I should have started earlier but that nap in the recliner was wonderful

The best part for them will be they get to live at the collage for the 3 days of rehearsals. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I'll deal. She's a very responsible young women and I know she will be fine.

Leetec that is wonderfull news. How exciting.

Me I feel like a nap now also. Might be combonation of the rainy weather and the fire place being on. I am drinking a nice cold 7UP right now, hoping it will pep me up a little.

I'll take a picture of Jeff's quilt when he comes back downstairs. I think he just went up to either watch tv and/or take a nap with Pepper dawg.

I started cutting my new quilt. 'Quick Trip'. Allready selected my 9 fabrics for it. I was going to make it from the flannels, but had only 8 of them.

I cut the first strips of 4". They go so fast.

Heh heh Mama Kay said she was gonna quilt circles around us. The way I'm going now is pretty cool.

Where's GP. She popped-in yesterday and said she was gonna be here tonight. I have not seen mama Parker either. I *miss* having them here.

MG, yeah I kept an eye on the weather in your neck of the woods. I hope it'll lighten up soon there so I can go visit. Maybe I'll do that on my way to Reddings CA. to visit my lady friend there. She'll be thrilled to see my quilting and to know I'm quitting that stinkin thinkin.

Lee, she will be fine... she will have her friend there with her and what a great experience for her.... wow, I am very impressed.

Tul, it's a long trip from where you are to Redding... it would take me about 10 hours from here.... are you flying?

I am trying to think of a way to go to Cedar Glenn in Nov.... the weeks that it is offered are blackout weeks at work so I can't get vacation days... I can call in sick but may have to bring a doctors note.... I have to do some finagaling, otherwise there's always the one in March.

Hi, ya'll! Leetec, congrats for your daughter!!! DH, DS#2 and I went out for a late lunch today and then to Barnes and Noble. We had gift cards from Christmas and I got a Border Workbook thinking it might help me for the Round Robin coming up. I got all the blocks cut out for my French Roses blocks, and about 1/2 the roses done, too. I tried using the freezer paper Stitch told us about and it worked great for cutting out the roses! I went ahead and cut the blocks at 13" like quilterbee suggested, too.

Boy, it's been cold here, but warmed up today. Wed. p.m. it was 11 degrees windchill, and for here that's pretty drastic! Anyway, tonight is supposed to be the last cold night in the forecast. I got so much done on my cleaning house project, it looks really nice and has put me in the mood to sew! Going to go fix a cup of hot chocolate and then be right back............
