Debi, this is what I told Carol:

"Right, not a chat room, I hit the "refresh" button right at the top w/ the little arrows that go up and down next to the X... then you don't have to go anywhere... "

Applique, El style, is fun, I have her sun sue book, but now I can do anything with that technique.

EL is such a wonderful teacher and quilter. It always amazes me that she comes up with these techniques. These blocks are turning out so well. I just love them.

No kidding!!! I remember one of the first shows I saw was birds in the air and I had just finished one of those for my 2nd child... Well I was sooo crazy not mad but disgusted i'd wasted so much time on all those tiny triangles when I could have had her technique! I realized after that that she was the go-to-girl for the best ways to put together quilts. I love Better Homes quilt mag, but I usually try to find an El way of making them...

Surprise is in the west valley. I can't believe how many ladies from here are showing up in AZ. Mary Margaret is coming in late Wednesday and we are getting together with a couple of other AZ girls. The AZ Quilting Guild is putting on their big quilt show Friday and Saturday. We are considering meeting there for our get together.

Williams has a train that goes to the Grand Canyon. Have you ever seen the GC? The girls will love it. How long are you going to be here? Aren't you pregnant - how far along? So many questions!!!

Lol! 20 weeks, what ever that means... 4 mo?
I went when I was 16, it was great!!! We stayed in Flagstaff, but I'm excited about Williams. Train will prob be too spendy, DH asked me to be frugal. :( lol I think i'll miss that quilt show, bummer. I was in our guild last year, but never went to mtg, no time and not a high priority at this point. I have fun just doing it at home. This forum is great though, it's been a blast!

With 5-1/2 children I do not know how you find time to do anything let alone quilt. I have two (they are all grown) and I thought I was busy. You are Wonder Woman!!!

You are right the train is a little pricey - too pricey for me also.
When we first moved to AZ - everyone who came to visit us wanted to go to the GC - We must have been there a dozen times. I don't think we will be visiting anytime soon.

Lol, I know what that's like, I grew up going to Portage Glacier about an hour away from my folks, we haven't been there since we've been married (11 yrs)... We also haven't taken our local train, but I'd really like to sometime, it goes up to Denali and I've only been there 2 times (I think) but again, not since marrage.
