Marcia, I am so glad you liked the pillowcases. Believe it or not a good a very good deal on that patriotic at the store I work at. I didn't sell. People said they wanted red white and blue. But when you look at all the figures on that fabric it's just wonderful. So I new my gals and I could do something with that fabirc. I still have some for next time.

I was so glad you posted Marcia I was worried that you might be sick, we hadn't heard from you in a few days.
Stay well and now you have to pack them all up.

My quilting buds loved making them, so I now I can get more out of them for the next run.

We will have to start in January so we can hit 400 for next Christmas..

More pillowcases! Dorothy sent four wonderful pillowcases for the soldiers to enjoy! I know there will be a soldier that likes to camp who will appreciate your camping print. The Christmas pillowcases are perfect (esp. since they will be arriving BEFORE Christmas)! And of course, the pillowcase with the all-American sport (baseball) in a patriotic theme will be enjoyed too! Love them all, Dorothy! Thanks so much for your contribution! You're a sweetheart! Hugs~Marcia

I watched a program the other day on the Military Channel. It was called "Iraq-ER". Very interesting, showed how our troops are first taken to a sort of mash type setup close ( I think they said "Balad) to get them stabilized and then a transport comes under darkness to fly them to Germany. They followed this one soldier until he got home to Andrews. The hospital in Germany if very clean, quiet and serene for out troops. They are told right off they are in a safe zone. The Drs in the "mash" unit actually wear flak jackets and helmets while performing surgeries when the air raid sirens go off. I was of course looking to see if I could see any colorful cases, but since it mainily showed this one soldier, he had all white linens with the facility stamp on them.

Very interesting to see how well our country tries to take excellent care of our Soldiers.

Between Marcia and Judyquilts projects, we ought to be able to flood Germany with cases next year!!!!!!

Thanks to both of you Ladies for presenting these projects.............And definitely for the Ladies that have sent cases to each of them!!!!!!!
Have Fun,
Linda S / OASIS

The son of a couple from our church is a medic and travels to germany and brings the soldiers back to Texas. He has more to do with the ones that are burned. I always wonder if he ever sees any of the pillowcases. A few months ago, they requested prayers for a women. She was on a civilain mission and stopped to get some gas for what she was driving. Two or more men approached her and poured gas on her and set her on fire. Gabe went over and broguht her home-which is something they don't normally do for someone not in the service.Gabe sees some awful things, on a daily basis.

At our retreat, while I was making the pillowcases, one of the ladies asked if I knew where the hospital is? She and her husband are retired military and served in Germany at one time.

HIP-HIP-HOORAY! We have ten more pillowcases from gmaann! And oh, are they ever beautiful! Someone went to a lot of work doing the seminole (sp?) blocks as a trim near the edge of the cuff! WOW! It really was a wonderful accent to the print. I absolutely love the R/W/B striped fabric- esp. with the star print for the cuff! The railroad signs printed fabric will bring memories to three of our recovering soldiers! (It made me think of the railroad that went by my house when I was a little girl. I loved waving to the engineer!) Thank you, Ann, for helping out with this project! A big pat on the back to you, my friend!

Well, ladies- we are up to 334 right now...and I will not add in my pillowcases till Nov. 11th!!! But rest assured that we did make the 350 mark! ;-)

KUDOS to all of you for helping out! My 'spare' bedroom is FULL of beautiful pillowcases. I plan to box them up and get these pillowcases in the mail before Thanksgiving. Thanks for your overwhelming support for this pillowcase project! You are the BEST!

A gazillion hugs are being sent out to all my wonderful volunteers~Marcia
