Michelle, its a date!! I will check at work tomorrow about taking that Friday off and then off we go.

Carole, DH is an early riser by nature and I on the other hand am not. I am the night owl. I have to get up at 5am during the week to be to work on time but I don't ever get up like that on the weekend unless we have something very special planned.

6Kids, I know that homeschooling is very popular but you are right, they are having loads of problems with it here. I am glad it is working well for you and those darling rascals. I don't know much about it but if I had it to do again I sure would consider it. Debi

6Kids, DH went with me on my last trip up there and loved it! He would probably be packed before I could finish my sentence if I told him I wanted to check into moving there. LOL He would be that outdoorsy type and I would stay in and bake, cook and quilt. Sounds like a good plan to me now that I think about it. :) Debi

I would love to have some goats and chickens...but we have to get the property first! Waiting to hear if the most recent offer has been accepted...

Have a good friend in Georgia who keeps La Mancha goats; she loves them.

Carole-I am a speech pathologist in the public school system (in Calif) and I love working with my 2 students who are homeschooled...they are making such great progress because their parents are involved and working with them.

Those I spy quilts are so cool, I saw the one on here earlier, I love it!

I got the HSLDA petition to sign so I just now asked DH if I should sign it, he said sure. (I didn't really care b4 'cause I don't know any CA homeschoolers, untill now. :)

My hubby was born in Okinawa (sp?) when his dad was there, it's such a pain though for any applications, etc. I guess everyone called him little Budah 'cause he was FAT!

I have always wanted a farm, grew up in ranch country and always worked in the barn with the horses. I really love being out in the middle of the animals and would brave the cold for them. We live in town now, on a fairly large lot with a big two story house that gives me plenty of room to sew and do almost anything I want now that the DDs have flown the coop (well all but the youngest who is spreading her wings). I have one DD in Kentucky and she just loves being in horse country but not the snow or ice storms. I guess you have trade offs no matter where you are. Debi
