good morning, I have had 2 cups of coffee and am ready to plan my day. it will be hot so I am sure we will stay inside. Tonight we will take John out for his birthday (which is tomorrow) and maybe look for a bike today for him. He wants a new bicycle, a beach cruiser type, for his birthday. His brother got a motorcycle for his birthday I am glad my H only wants a bike for his (#53).

Good morning everyone... Another scortcher day out. Yesterday got over 100 today should be arout 90-95. Good day to stay inside & sew.

Got 1 pillowcase done & will do another today. Then cut out more on DGS nascar quilt, finish potholders. & then???

Michelle, its bad when the fires are starting so early this year. I wonder how much is left to burn down here. I hope we don't go thru that again but "someone" seems to like starting fires in this heat. Hope everyone is safe up there cause it's bad.

Have a fun day...

Carolyn, my sister got a beach cruiser for christmas 2 yrs ago & loves it. I was thinking I might go find bike to ride too

I've got my sewing room back into working order (for the time being) and now am ready to get started on my sewing. I watched the video SFOQuilter posted about luggage tags and cell phone holders and I think I got it down so I can get started. I think I will keep to small projects for awhile and start planning Christmas projects.

Izzy just ran to Target and I need to fit a skirt to her so I am on a break. I am having a moody day. I started off when I went to the fridge to get some milk. We have 4 little dry erase boards on our fridge with our schedules on them. Each one of us has next week's schedule written and Izzy's only goes through Tuesday. It has her flight to Boston on it and then the next date written is in August. I have been teary ever since. Good thing she gave me projects to help her finish. She will be home for 10 days in August then back for the Fall Semester.

;) I am so very proud of her but it is hard to say bye. She is studying for the LSAT and will start looking at Law schools next spring. Right now her interest is still law and she is looking at Stanford, Georgetown and Harvard at her top choices and feels confident that her scores/grades will make them in reach it just depends on the competition. She knows that American University, Chapman Law, NYU and a couple of others are easily within her scores but who know she may decided to do something totally different.....

Back from church. We had our 75th Anniversary Celebration. Past 5 Pastors were able to come. Enjoy all the speakers and the fellowship afterwards. Had lunch there too, but I loved the dirt cake dessert.

Hope to sew in a couple of minutes. Froggy and I went-a-courtin yesterday. Boy, what a great date!!! The serenade was neat. Rippin in the moonlight...what a song! lol, need to listen to my inner self more starting today!

Have fun today, Carolyn, my heart goes out to you. I get teary eyed lots too.

:)

Good Morning. (lol it IS still morning here)

I was up around 8:30. could not sleep until around 6 am. So jeff decided to keep me company and called me from work cell. *Yeacks* that'll be a bill?

They switched hotels to down town Oslo. within walking distance of the main shopping (car free) section, walking distance to the pallace, other way up to the waterfront where there are ferries going each ways direction. Walking distance to Oslo's univeristy, major theathers.... Yeah SO? You might think? <sigh> wish I was there to DRAG Jeff OUT of his hotel room to go SEE something.

That hotel has ANY ammenities you can think off. Grrrrrr....LOL...wish I was there we would NOT stay at the hotel.

Okay, I better get off my soap box.........

Needless to say I am a bit sleep deprived and skipping church today much to my son's dismay.

I have chores to do, errands to run, house to scrub down and lots and lots of nice sewing/quilting projects.

((((*C*))))) So sorry that this is so tough on you, it would be tough on most of us to have our kids in college/University. i tell you what, I meet you next week and include ALL my quilting and sewing projects to keep your mind busy. :) Generous of me huh? Especially the first week of the fam. being here I don't think I'll get any sewing/quilting time in, and after that week I might go to oslo myself for 2 weeks.

All of you here really sound like early birds.
Michelle I remember my days when we lived in the Santa Clara area and the weather in SF. Beautiful city. One of my favs.

Ann, you are still doing those 5 miles a day walks huh? Tough cookie you are. Glad you're feeling so good about your projects getting done to make you feel good.

DewDew lol, glad you're slowing down for a day. Some days you make my head spin as fast as you work and your creativity.

<looking around this room and waving to every one here>

Ah Kendarosa and the weather in TX with the lans all crusted and cracking open because of the heat. YUP that sounds like Tx. If I had known you lived in the panhandle we could've met up with our drive through the panhandle.

I watched the news as well here in Ca. with 400 wild fires going on lighted by thunderstorms. North part of CA. It's terrible. Does it ever stop with all the disasters we've had allready?

I better finnish this book I am writing here in this room :).

Good afternoon, all! I ran a few errands this morning, planted some more tomato plants (this is the 3rd time), struggled with putting a slipcover on a loveseat and did laundry. The rest of the day will be mine to sit & sew. Found an adorable pattern in a strip-piecing book for a log cabin quilt, done in all brights. I had most of the fabric, but needed to get a marbled purple for the center squares. I think it'll be something "fun" to work on. We're expecting thunderstorms this afternoon but hopefully none will be heavy.

Carolyn - My kids gave me a cruiser bike for mother's day last year and I absolutely love this bike. It's called 'The Big Easy' and from REI. It does have 7 speeds but I keep it in the hardest gear unless it's a steep hill. It the most comfortable bike I have ever had. I ride all over town with it. Just bought a basket to grocery shop.

Yes, Tul, still doing 5 miles a day. This new hip is the berries!!

I sent you a PM about trying to change the needle in my new Espire. Maybe someone else will have a suggestion. I cannot get the needle OUT of the machine, though I've followed the directions from the manual exactly. I'm not having a problem with the needle, but thought I should change it just because. It is the needle that came in the machine and I've been using it since just after Paducah. Any ideas, anyone??
