oh an HQ16 how fun...can't wait to see your quilts
I am only here for a second I have projects to complete before it gets too hot. Tonight we are going to a concert with the OC Symphony.
I just uploaded photos of the paperpieced camping scenes I designed for the pillow portion of the quillows.
be back later

Goodmorning Everyone!
Mary - Congratulations on the HQ16! You now have what everyone dreams of having to complete all the quilt tops made or dreamed of being made in their lifetime. You will learn how to use it I am sure with patience and persistence.
Jacquie - Congratulations on finishing the baby quilt!
I have been trimming the HST for the CW Quilt Swap. I am also housecleaning and watering the yard. It is warm hear but not as warm as other areas of California. I made fresh lemonade this morning for us to drink.

Glad to see everyone today. I have my daughter-in-law's quilt 1/4 quilted, just doing a big meander. It feels good to work on some UFOs.
Catch you all again later

Hi Debbie! Hi Alina!
It is just too hot, and I know it is hotter inland! I am still trimming and pinning. What are you up to?

Hey Carol... just finishing up my yummy sandwich and then heading back to sewing... I have to take advantage while DH has the kids out and about... don't know how much time I have... it is getting hot out there so they may need to come home... hopefully they'll go to the beach where it's cooler... I sent a bunch of diapers and extra clothes for both boys... hopefully I will have a bit more time... heehee!

Alina - It sounds like you are enjoying a "child-free" morning! Your DH must really enjoy the special time he spends with your boys! What quilt are you working on?

He does... it make him realize I DO work at home especially now that I am homeschooling...
I just finished up my bluebirds for DJ's summer swap and now I need to start on my Sams for her 30's sampler swap... I also need to do my block for Derek's quilt...
How are your CW blocks coming? I am glad I got that one done and outta the way... they are sitting at DJ's waiting for their mates...

WoW HQ16, very CooL. have fun with it.
A baby blanky with mink backing? That sounds very snuggly.
YUP, Jeff attached my sure stitch to my frame this morning.
Now it is up to me trying to load frabic on it and actually use this LA.
I have at least two tops I can practice on. One is a Christmas table runner, and the other is a 'quilt' (if you even can call it that) I made with red fabric and white hearts. I need to wash that one. That one is now Pepper Dawgs quilt, and a good one to practise on.
Jeff left to go get a haircut. (he came home from work around 2:30 this morning. He likes running errands on Saturdays and will get some groceries so I have at least something to cook for dinner today and tomorrow.
I want to learn how to do feathers on my LA. So I can practice feathered hearts on Pepper Dawgs quilt.
No AC on for me so far, we live on top of a hill and get a seabreeze usually strong enough to be able to just open doors and windows to keep our home cool.
Hoping ALL of you are having a great Saturday.
Take care, cause I care.

LOL, still waiting on my stylus, panthogram and laser light. NP

Re: Sew in Saturday, May 17, 2008
Ok, I'm re-posting in here because I know you all hide in here on Saturdays.
But I need HELP PLEASE with scalloped edges... I've missed you all btw, but I'm re-doing DDs room for her b-day and that's what this quilt is for, it has a bright pink solid front to match the bright pink paint and it has horse embroidered black polar fleece backing. Hardly any work for me except I decided to do SCALLOPS for the first time!!!
I know most people would buy a template, but time and money are preventing that now. I read somewhere else that you can use a dinner or luncheon plate to do them. Here's the plan, tell me what you think or what you've done with homemade remedies... The quilt will be appx 80x90 inches and I have a plate that's about 9.5" wide. On the 90" side I figured I'd start in the middle and start marking out to the edges and do the same on the other side. (Using pencil that will wash.) Then maybe do the corners and work in on the 80" side? I'm just not sure, it's very intimidating. I figured once I got them right I'd mark with a permanent pen before sending it to the quilter... What do you think? Thanks, Anna
