It was grey and overcast here most of the morning; it has finally burned off in the past hour or so. We are coming into "May gray" and "June gloom" season, so we have more soupy mornings ahead.

Which reminds me...I better go run and stir my stew...don't want it to scorch! Be back in a sec.

I just grabbed my Keepsake Quilting catalog that came yesterday. Haven't looked at it yet...I can do that in between postings and stitching!

Carole, it's bean and sausage stew and it is REAL good! I like it because I can put it on the stove in the morning and sorta forget about it for hours. Sure makes the house smell good! Will throw some cornbread in the oven around quarter to five to go with.

Oh, it's laundry day here, too...we had a pretty bad back-up! Youngest had to borrow underpants from her sister yesterday...8-0

I have a question for you. I have Pfaff 2042 and every now and then it makes a sound (kind like the upper thread is pulled) and when I check it there is escess top thread on the bottom. Doesn't always do this. In fact - it just started again after a long pause. I end up cutting the thread and removing the excess thread and going back over it. Any ideas why this happens.

Hi Everyone!
I just finished shopping at the last two stores of the OC Shop Hop. They were the farthest away from me, but sure worth the effort. Yesterday, I started the hop with SewCarolyn and together we did four stores. I did one more before heading home so I only had two left. Overnight it became more clear what I needed to purchase to work on my projects. I purchassed another red and a little more yellow. I could not resist a piece of pink that works with my pink print too. I had a great time! Since I drove to all of them myself it will help me to remember how to get back to them too!

I need to finish laundry, trim, and wash and press the new fabric and clean this afternoon. I also need to make a marinade for the chicken. I will stop by later.

Carole, I don't know for certain what's up with your Pfaff...but I had similar problems with my machine. When I switched to Guttermann's thread I have no more "bobbin barf"! I have also seen some Teflon washers that you put under the bobbin, inside the bobbin case, that are supposed to make the bobbin turn more smoothly and prevent this as well.

Hope this is of some help.

Another thought...would a different brand of machine needle help?

Thanks - great information. I think it must be something like this because it only happens once in awhile. I am going to keep an eye on what thread I am using when this happens.

I have an older machine, a Singer from the 1970's, and Sadie is a bit picky about the thread I give her to work with. When I switched from Coats and Clark to Guttermann's, the problem solved itself. Worth indulging her whims because she is a great little machine!
