need to send men's comfort quilt

Post by grannyQuilts1 » Thu Sep 24, 2009 12:37 pm

Hi, i was just reading Wardfan's thread in chit chat about her DSIL, Gary. He has 4th stage cancer and they are needing our praying for him. I would like to send him a quilt. Since this my first time with a project i am not sure if i am suppose to ask, suggest or just send. I will need the address to send to him. He is such a young man with small children.

I agree we ought to send him a quilt. I think any of us can suggest a recipient. Maybe someone can tell you exactly how to "get the go-ahead," but since you are leading this group, it may be up to you. Do you need more blocks yet? Thanks for all you're doing. Deb

Hi Barbara,
Good post. I agree about sending him a quilt. Did you pm Wardfan? She would have his address, and could advise you on any other questions you might have. Sandy,

I have enough blocks for 1 and a half quilts i am putting one on the frame this afternoon. For this one i am suppling the backing and the batting. i received address from wardfan. i hope to get it mailed on monday. i will post a pix of it before i send it. thank all of you so much for all the blocks you have sent. I think all of us know someone who is in need of cheering up. Our men are so busy taking care of us they forget to take care of themselves.

Good thinking Barbara. Sounds like we may need to get some more blocks to you. What do you think about $$ donations to help cover the cost of the backings and batting? Sipping costs? This should not be absorbed just by one person.

Yes WeSignificant, if anyone would like to help with shipping or anything else it would be appreciated a lot. i am on a fixed income and i do have some batting on hand that i will use for the first two quilts but anything is appreciated.

Thanks to all of you who have sent blocks. i received some more from Macdor yesterday, very pretty and thanks.
