Bible Quilt - To help purchase church PA system

I have made a bible quilt, the blocks consist of Children of Isreal, Job's tears, Walls of Jerico, Joseph's coat, Dove's in a Window, Jacob's ladder, Wings of Eagles, David and Goliath, Garden of Eden, Solomon's Puzzle. I made 3 of each of them put them together with purple strips of material representing the purple robe jesus wore, the purple and white print for the border and the corners are white print. I am quilting in 5 crosses on top and bottom representing the 5 foolish and 5 wise virgins, along the sides are 6 crosses on each side representing the 12 apostles with one cross upside down for Paul who was hung upside down. The back is of a soft blue representing the Sea of Galalee. This quilt is in the frame now when I get done I will post some pictures, This is my very first quilt I have done that some of the blocks were complicated. God Bless all who see's it.

mzmartina - I would be so interested in seeing this quilt - I teach religious education at my church and have thought of doing a quilt to depict the stories we talk about I just didn't know how to get started. Is this something you designed yourself or was it a pattern? Welcome to the forum - it is a the greatest place in the world for friendship.

mzmartina your quilt sounds like it will be so beautiful! I want to also Welcome you here and say hello from another fellow Okie. I'm from Yukon. I do hope you will take pics of your quilt when it is completed so we can see your wonderful Project! I sure hope it brings in more than enough for your Church to purchase the PA system. Is there a pattern for this quilt or did you search for each individual block? Sounds fabulous. I hope you will or have, looked at the different sections of this great forum & will post often so we can get aquainted. Someone is usually in the Sew In section all of the time. It is a place where we just pop in & out of daily if we want to chat & see what is going on in ea. others lives and visit. It's great. Anyway, it is great having you with us & I hope we see a lot of you around here.

The quilt sounds wonderful. I have been collecting patterns with Bible themes for some time, and look forward to actually making them eventually.

Will the quilt be auctioned off to raise funds for the church PA system?

I just saw your post. Your quilt sounds beautiful. Have you finished it? We had a church about 20 miles from here that made quilts that were Bible based. They met each month and when they finished the quilts they had a quilt show so people could view their finished quilts. I got to go to it once. They had some really beautiful quilts. I hope you will share your quilt with us when it is finished.
