I've been Eying that pattern myself. I think it would look neat done in earth tones as the center of a quilt, maybe use the Seminole border design around it.
At the top of the screen, just under Eleanor's picture, click on Television and Video. She has a video showing how to use the triangle in a square ruler which Sue uses. Don't know if this will answer your question or not.

Re: dream catcher
Welcome DalCrazy. . . I haven't seen your name before.
I too like that pattern. Looks to be a little complicated but I want to make it up in aqua, turquoise,a little burnt orange and the earth tones Evie mentioned. Let us know how you are doing with it. And post a picture when you are done. We all love pictures.
Take Care,

Kay, at the top of the screen, where it says Download Free Patterns, click on that. It's a pattern that Sue Bouchard designed and it uses the triangle in a square template set.
It's really quite pretty and I can see it as a center medallion for a bed quilt done in southwestern colors.

Dalcrazy, did you ever figure out what dimension to cut the 6" strip. I'm working on that pattern as well. For those that aren't aware, the directions say "cut (4) pairs from the 6" background strip..."
Okay, we have cut the 6" strip, but how wide are the "pairs" supposed to be when we cut them?

This seems to be the same size Triangle in a Square patch as in the Egg Money Quilts book for the Garden Walk Block. I just checked my book, and it says to cut the pairs 3" x 6". If you have the Egg Money Quilts book, you can check it out. I'm not doing this quilt yet, so I can't be entirely sure, but I think that's right.

Thank you, Missie...
Also, looking at examples of the triangle in a square templates, I think I will just place them on the strips and cut that way rather than making the rectangles and then cutting angles. Which if I were a more accomplished quilter maybe I would "know" to put the template on the strips.

Re: dream catcher
Worked on the "triangles in a square" last night. Once I had thought about it, was simple. Need to use the templates to cut the "sets" out of the strips. Also, there was one small snafuu with the directions. Will need to make double the amount of sets of the 6" strips that it calls for. After sewing them together, square it up to 4 1/2".
Should have mine finished, top at least, this week-end and will post a pic next week.
