I think I know this answer but want to be sure. Do you assume that a charm pack (from the manufactur) is NOT prewashed and to avoid anything shrinking you should wash them?

Hi Suzette58,
The ones I've bought do not appear to be washed. I wash them in the sink with just a wee bit of laundry soap, then rinse real good, towel blot them dry and press.
Good question. I'm anxious to see some of the others answer.
Happy charming,
Karla

I've never bought charm packets. I'm thinking something that small would ravel all to pieces. . . .but they sure would save a lot of cutting time, so I just might put it on my 'to do' list.

Charms have been the exception to my rule about washing everything and I have had good luck with thm. I have used quite alot of them.
The only exception has be a few red, dark green and dark blue. And those only whenthey don't 'feel' right. I have this thing about fabric I guess because I have handled so much that I can almost always tell about a fabric from it's feel.'m sure that some of you are going to say that it's senility talking but I can assure you that it has worked for me. I love charms and use them more and more as my hands become more crippled making cutting a chore. I have a friend whose husband does all her cutting for her and I've, tried to borrow him but she doesn't trust me or him so won't agree. I really think that's very selfish of her. LOL...........Kay

The very best charm pack to buy is right here at QIAD. The magic vine charm pack comes with a pattern - tossed nine patch, plus about 80 squares of fabric. Best deal I've seen. The fabrics pretty too.

I have recently started buying charm packs for smaller quilts and it a way to afford a whole collection which would otherwise be out of reach. I do not wash them. Use mostly for smaller wall hangings.

LOL Kay!!! I think you should advertise in the newspaper for a man to come cut for you and you could trade cooking a meal for him!
I would hope the single man would volunteer but if he's married maybe his wife is a lously cook and he's looking for one good meal a week!!!

Just now got my charm, but not the free pattern you mentioned & I don't see it on the link you posted either? No biggie, love the squares, but am just curious? Debating whether to do the hand washing in the sink too? May do it, just in case, then I don't have to worry, right!
Love the lavendar boa too!
Nancy/NC.......going to keep an eye out for more charm packs, love these!
