T-shirt quilt

Post by lorettav » Fri Aug 07, 2015 3:38 am

Has anyone ever quilted (meander)a t-shirt quilt. Do you need to use a certain needle or would it be better to tack it? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Good morning Loretta. I have never done a T-Shirt quilt, however I would think if you used stabilizer to stabilize the shirt you could meander. I would check the different how to web sites to see.

Loretta, I would definitely add stabilizer and consider tacking first, because the stretch fabrics and weight of the tshirts make it so difficult! Good luck!

When I made a T shirt quilt, I used fusible light weight interfacing on each block to stabilize...once i did that, it was easy to quilt. Interfacing takes away the stretc.
