Cut my layer cakes wrong (yes all of them) - now what?

I used 2 layer cakes to make Eleanor Burns' Kylie's Kite blocks. All my blocks are ready to join but I decided I wanted a larger quilt. I ordered 2 more layer cakes and cut them ALL wrong. I cut them 2 1/4" from the corner instead of 2 1/2". Obviously, I need to change my plan - any ideas on how I can use the pieces that are cut wrong?

If you haven't sewn the original ones together yet, could you trim them down to 2 1/4 to match the ones you cut wrong? Just a thought.

I've already sewn the originals together; also, the smaller pieces won't work with the Kylie's Kite ruler for trimming.

Oops...ok, back to the brainstorming drawing board. If I can think of something else I'll let you know.

Use them for a piano key border... Maybe you could add a couple of piano key borders of different widths separated with a strip of a contrasting fabric and not have to make more blocks...

I would take what you have and make a totally new pattern block.
Cut them off kinter using a square ruler or Xblock ruler, and make a new block design altogether.

Leaving you with a reason to back and shop for more fabric...

Make something totally different or make your original plan a little smaller
