Can anyone tell me what you use in the middle when making the little fabric books for babies? My little great-granddaughter will be 1 in October and everything goes right it her mouth. Thank you for your help!

How about 100% cotton warm and natural batting. They sell it at Joann's. Lori

That's exactly what I've used before. If you wash the panel you're making the book from ahead of time (with no fabric softener) there shouldn't be any issue with the "everything in her mouth" issue (grin).

I've used poly batting when I wanted it puffier.

I've used both, Warm and Natural and Poly. It kind of depends how puffy you want the pages to be. Either one should work just fine for you though.

I have a TV tape video from long ago, how book is made. She used felt rectangle, fold in half you have 2 pages. Different colors. on each page sew what you wish..
In this case was older child.. One page, zipper, Two page, button closure, 3page shoe lace, 4th tack etc..
For baby maybe a squeaker battery when pressed, fold over window, colored applices, different texture squares: velour, curdory, shiny drapery makes noise when scraped. I don't know..

I like a high loft poly for books. It makes them nice and fluffy.

In all the books I have made I have used white felt pieces. I buy them at JoAnn's Fabrics.
