Removing the residue from fusible web

Post by DollyQuilt » Sat Jun 11, 2011 4:46 pm

I have been using fusible web to attach some appliques. Well, there's web residue on my iron as well as my pressing mat. If anyone out there has some tip on removing this sticky residue, I would be so appreciative.

I have use goo-gone - on a cold iron to remove the residue - I also have sacrificed a old towel and rubbed it off with the iron hot - both work.

I use a applique pressing sheet to eliminate that problem - they are wonderful!!

Iron Off by Dritz can be purchased at Joann'a and works great. Follow the directions carefully and use out side or it will set off the smoke alarms.

The iron cleaner will help, as well as the Goo Gone or De Solvit. However, my best solution is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
