I have tried a few battings and find that they just aren't as warm as I would like. Would fleese be a good alternitive?

Have you tried Warm & Natural batting? I use it and it is good.

I also use warm and natural.. but I buy it off the bolt instead of pre packaged... the last time I bought pre packaged it was a little linty when I cut it...

I usually buy mine at JoAnns when it's 40 or more % off...

The Quilter's Dream wool is wonderful! Very light weight and very warm. Have it in one quilt on our bed now; not too heavy to sleep under and don't need to wear extra clothing to keep warm!

I highly recommend wool, whatever brand you prefer.

I find that Warm & Natural or Wool are very warm and also easy to work with.
