El's teachings & QIAD orders

Post by Ricksbabe » Fri Nov 12, 2010 7:16 am

Well I guess I should start out saying I am one of the newbee's! LOL I fell in love with El's patterns and techniques from the first time I saw a video of hers. Well I have already made the trip around the world quilt for one of my twin Son's and soon to be DIL. It took me about 12 hours total from start to finish to complete. (even after getting 1/2 way through hand quilting it and then realizing that I had a big pucker (ugh) so out came the stitches by hand and onto the sewing machine).

The next one I did is a log cabin quilt with embroidered squares. (it was to be for my DD and future DIL's baby but unfortunately they lost it this week). But I am going to complete it and keep it for when they are expecting again. I am just not sure on how I would like to quilt it. Any suggestions:

Now for the staff at QIAD: I just placed an order 2 days ago with QIAD since our local shops only carry a few items and I am happy to say that all of it arrived today with no problems. My hat is off to them as they are gems to deal with. I am so glad that I found this site you all are awesome!

Thanks for allowing me to share these!

Welcome - glad you have joined us!

Many times I have removed stitches because of a pucker - in fact the baby quilt I am doing I did just that - but went back to hand quilting it!

The girls at QIAD are tops - I have never had a problem with an order either.

If you can figure it out - you can post your pictures over in the section here called Quilting photos - then we all can oooh and aaah over them!

Again - welcome!

Welcome Robin... join us in the sew in... it's a fun section of this forum where we all talk about our days, we laugh and pray and have lots of fun.

you are so right about QIAD being on the ball... I once placed an online order from their Kentucky store and it was in California in my mail box in two days... I was speechless... which is very rare....lol

your log cabin is beautiful... hope things work out so you get a grandbaby soon to tuck in it... God Bless...

Robin, Welcome to the QIAD forum, the best there is on quilting along with terrific friendships. I just took a peek at your baby quilt. It is adorable. Great job. Love your choice of colors. Perfect for this cute little quilt.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your grandchild. May God be with you all as you go thru the sadness at this time. Nothing is harder to deal with than the loss of a child. May you feel the prayers, warmth and loving hugs from the El's Angels on this forum. We are here for you and your family anytime.

Thanks for posting the website. God bless, love and hugs, Shirley Mae
