Can you use fat quarters when making the double wedding ring quilt? If not I do have other ideas for them just wondering. Thanks. Jo

You can use fat quarters for anything! They are just to give you a bigger (18 x 22) piece to work with than just getting a 1/4 yard cut or buying a 1/2 yard cut. Great when you need a larger variety! I love fat quarters! The only draw back to a fat quarter is when you wash them (as any fabric will do) they sometimes shrink so you won't have a large enough piece for some of the turning 20 quilts or the quick cut quilts. ~Abbigail~

Abbigail, you are so right, I love 'em too. When I first started quilting that's all I had. We have a quilt shop near that sells FQs for $1.25 (actually when I started buying they were just $1). Top quality! They make a lot of kits for quilts and always end up with FQs, so they have lots. That's about all I buy there because their fabric is expensive, but buying FQ's just makes it $5 a yard and they often have many of the same FQ.
You can make anything with them, but like Abbigail says, the do shrink if you wash them, but I'm a die hard pre-washer, so I deal with it <smile>
