I have admired this quilt from afar and want to make one. How do I get the pattern? Are you still doing a trade or round robin with the blocks? I am very interested in participating in group projects.
Thanks

Hi Debbie, I don't know if there's another French Rose swap going on - check the Swaps, Round Robin,BOM category every once in a while. I participated in one and I LOVE my blocks. Haven't had time to put them together yet, but I know it will make a really beautiful quilt!!
I haven't noticed you posting before, so WELCOME. You'll love it here - everyone is SO NICE, and we exchange a lot of good information!!

fatcatpatterns.com has 2 different ones. I was in the French Roses swap but have used Sindy's FatCat patterns, too. The original F.R pattern was featured in McCall's Quilting mag a couple years ago. The designer's last name is French, hence the pattern's name. Amie

I have the magazine, Quilt Pink, and I don't really need it anymore. If you would like, I can send it to you. Just PM (private message) me with your address and I'll send it right out. I have so many magazines that I'm going through and giving to the local women's shelter. If you would like it let me know.
And Welcome to the Forum!!!!!

Hi everyone,
Just finished the quilt top of my Underground Railroad quilt. Now the question I have is: Can I use left over fabric pieces for the back of the quilt? I have fabrics of mixed colors and mixed designs.

I couldn't find the pattern for the quilt but I did find a website that had a templete for the rose. Maybe this can help you.

PattiBee, Sue Bouchard who writes several of the QIAD books uses up all her leftover fabric on the back of the quilt so she can start fresh with the next one. I think she just randomly pieces them all together until she has a large enough piece to do the job. Or, you could do simple squares and make it look like a patch work quilt on the back then you would have a double sided quilt!
Bland50 that's pretty nifty! What percentage would you have to increase it by? Maybe 100 percent?
I traced all mine onto freezer paper. Instead of drawing on fabric, I just ironed the freezer paper on, then cut around them. It sticks long enough for that. I turned on a box fan to keep me cool, and a high stool to sit on in front of the ironing board, and just took my time. It was actually quite enjoyable sitting there with my stash of flowered fabric and deciding which fabric went with which one.
Remember to enjoy yourselves!

I, too, am looking for a French Rose template. I have looked everywhere, and the links I've clicked online have put me nowhere. If anyone knows where I can download a FREE pattern, please let me know!
