Well it is me again, "newbie" there is so much exciting stuff on this site I think I was up until midnight and now here I am getting ready for work, and still here!!!!! I saw just a few posts on the beautiful totes. Does anyone make them to sell? (oh please say you do). I would also love to purchase the pattern (not that I would ever make one, but I love patterns as much as I do fabric) also what is the "charms" people are referring too. Welcom to the forum Chrissy1. Had to laugh about being on line so late. I think we all do that. Then with the time difference you eastern people are on so so early and those of us out west stay on really late.

Charms are precut squares (usually 5 inches but can be any size) that come in packages for different projects. There are a lot of "Charms" patterns out now. There are also "noodles" which are 2 1/2 inch by the width of the fabric (wof) that are swapped and traded. Then there are "jellyrolls" which I think are bundles of noodles from the same fabric lines (but not too sure).

As for the totes, I don't know if anyone is making them for selling. However, in the swap section, there is a "Tote swap" getting ready to start but you would need to have one to swap with your partner. The one pattern from Sadiedaisy is very easy and quick. I am a new quilter too, quilting about a year now, and there is so much to learn.

I wanted to elaborate on Oasis' comment about Charm Packs. When a designer comes out with a line of fabrics there could be anywhere from 10, 20, 30, or even 50 bolts of fabric in the line. A lot of times it is several prints repeated and several colors repeated - but they all coordinate together. For example: Each print might come in six colors. For a lot of quilt shop's it would be too much to stock the entire line of fabric. They may only carry about 10-15 bolts of the line. However, the charm pack will carry one 5" square (typical size) of each fabric in the line.

Okay Michelle, now you have done it. If anything could have made my day, the arrival of my spectacular tote that you made me did. I was sitting her, foot suspended in air with a temporary cast, thinking hummm, what can I do to amuse myself that doesn't involve moving. Our daughters friend stopped by. I heard Mrs. Town there is a package here for you, it's me Jen I will bring it in. Michelle, this tote is the most amazing piece of craftsmanship I have ever seen. Every single stitch is perfect, the colors are PERFECT, everything I could have ever wanted. When I head to the ortho. specialist tomorrow, guess what I am going to be sporting. My new tote. I truly appreciate your making it for me, it is just wonderful. So, are you taking orders for Christmas gifts????

Tami, in the pic section SFOQuilter has posted pics of some beautiful totes that she makes. Just do a search for totes and I am sure you will come up with many different posts of discussions and pictures of totes made by many of our forum members. I also have a picture of a tote that we are doing for a one to one swap, unfortunately that swap is already in progress and sign up has closed.
