I'm looking for good sources of applique patterns
My Mom is making penny rugs and is interested in applique ideas. I am also interested in putting some applique on my next quilt. Are there any good books? Are Ellie Sinkewicz's books hard to find? Thanks for the help. Jan

Are you looking for free patterns or purchase ones? Maybe one of these sites may be of use...
Cheers!

Re: I'm looking for good sources of applique patterns
I have seen a lot of free applique stuff on various sites on line. Just do a search on quilt applique and see what pops up.
You might try looking for some little kids coloring books too. The pics are usually very simple, large, and would be easy to trace and use for applique and add detailing with stitching. Just a thought.
A friend of mine just brought me an old book she picked up at a thrift store. It is full of applique stuff but the book was originally for embellishing sweat shirts. It did say you could use them in quilt blocks too. It is a very large book so pics don't have to be enlarged to use them. Good luck to both of you.
Hugs, Shirley Mae

I love Sindy's designs at FatCat
) She designed a pattern just for me to do the Spring RR, it's the Blue Iris. Amie

Thanks everybody. Mawmum, you answered my question elsewhere and I can't find it. The quilt you were interested in was a landscape from Italy. You can get the pattern from Esterita Austin at esteritaaustin.com. She shows how to make it on Simply Quilts and the instructions are on hgtv.com If you have any questions let me know. I'll send in a picture of it next Tuesday when I get back from visiting my mother. Thanks Jan
