Has anyone made a Quick Trip Quilt?

Post by quiltwithmom » Tue Apr 22, 2008 9:48 am

I will be starting my quick trip this week. I finally have gathered all the fabric and cut it. I read and re read the directions and it scares me a little. I was thinking I may wait until our Linda and queen peach get home so I can ask them questions. I'll start out slow and hope it comes out nice. I'm making it special for our son. Then I will need someone to quilt it for me as I am sure I can not.
I just would like to know if you have made one, and if you had any problems.
thanks,
Kathy

Yes, I've made one. Just follow the instructions step by step and be sure you don't leave out a step. It's really easy. I sometimes make a copy of the pattern instructions and use a highlighter as I complete each step. I have holes in my head (like swiss cheese) to this helps me keep up with myself.

Wow Debbie, THANKS. Your quilts are pretty. I like the colors you chose to use. I'm doing a patriotic one. It is on page 15. Yours look so much bigger than the pictures in the book. I thought when I cut the strips a 4" that it would be big but looking at your pictures I now have a better feel for what it is going to be like.
I am so nervous and I don't know why. I've made other quilts, but this one looks tricky.
THANKS cindyg for the tip on the highlighter. I have CRS most of the time so I think I'll do that.

This is one I made for my niece. It's supposed to be a twin size but the thing is really long! It turned out beautiful in the purples, greens & white.

Hi Linda,
WoW!! Purples any shade are my favorite colors. I love it. The one I am making is suppose to be a lap quilt, but I think it will be big.

Purple!

Wow, I know a lot of the ladies in Paducah were "stealing" purples!

It is absolutely beautiful!

OMG I am doing the happy dance!! I finished the first half of my quick trip. I was in my sewing room talking to myself out loud. Had to be sure to get all the cuts just right. I was saying "amazing how she(El) does this. I just can't believe how it is going together" My DH from the other room says.....is it looking good? I said YES I'm so exicited!
Maybe tomorrow I'll get to do the second half. Thanks for sharing pics of your quilts and TIPS. I'm doing pretty good.
