I have been invited to a baby shower and thought it would be nice to do a signature quilt where everyone there could sign their names for the mother of the baby to remember that day. I was wondering if anyone out there has a very fast and easy pattern they would be willing to share with me. I would appreciate any help since I am a fairly new quilter.

Hi and welcome, I don't remember seeing your name before.
El has a free pattern that we have used for signature quilts. Very easy and I'll see if I can find the pictures that are posted here so you can see one make up. Here is the page for the free pattern, it is called "Cracker Box".

Scroll down a ways and there is a picture of this pattern made up:

My friend did something similar to what you are describing...it turned out great. Everyone at the shower painted thier block with permenant paint pens and wrote a happy thought to the baby. They were all bright and happy. I was the one who pieced and quilted it for her. I had an extra block and used it for the label. I just did a basic stitch and flip. Amie

Baygirl Eleanor has 1 in her book still stripping after 25 years and if you go to quilting possabilities you might be abel to get it there or look at it anyway and then order it from ELS sight.

Thank you fabricgirl, Oasis & quilterbee. I had just purchased Eleanor's book "Still Stripping after 25 Years" but didn't get a chance to look through the whole thing. I'm glad she had a signature block in it because her books are always sooo easy to follow. My very first quilt (full bed size) was from her book of Log Cabin directions. I made it for my daughter and was very please that it was so easy. Thanks again.
