HELP
Hi Ladies, Does anyone have any suggestions or a pattern for a fleece throw that is different from the one that you tie? I am making a fleece throw out of marine corp fleece for my daughter and would like it to be really nice. Thanks for any help.

Re: HELP
I don't have a pattern but I took 2 pcs of fleece the same size. With righ sides together, I went around 3 1/2 sides with the machine. Turn it right side out and whip stitched it closed. Then I did a 1/2 long blanket stitch with 2 ply embroidery thread all the way around it. It has made it through 3 Winters with rough teenage boys and many washings.LOL That is all I know to do with fleece. Hopefully someone else will chime in. Good Luck and hope to see a finished pic of it.

Re: HELP
Hi,
I have made them by sewing 2 pcs together (wrong sides together), doing a large, simple meandering all over it and then use the satiny blanket binding like we used to have on our own blankies. I think we adults still need to feel soft things once in a while to help reduce our stress levels.

Re: HELP
I bought the Army fleece for my oldest boy and bought plain for the back. Sprayed the back of it with 505 adhesive spray and placed wrong sides together. I outlined the Army emblem then did a large meander. Folded in the edges (tucked in) about 1/2 inch and then did a hem stitch 1/4" all around.

Re: HELP
I have made blankets for Project Linus using the following directions. At each corner cut a 6" square out. Take the raw edge and turn it to the wrong side even with the alternate side. Sew the edge. Do all 4 edges that way. Then take your rotary cutter and cut every 1" to make fringe. Be careful not to cut through the stitching. If I have confused you send me a PM and I'll try to describe it.

Re: HELP
I made one of the Navy fleece with a plain fleece backing. Did the stitching around the three plus sides, turned it, and then stitched it closed by hand.
Then, I stitched around the emblem in the center, and if I remember correctly, there was a couple of colors around the outside edge and stitched around those.
My boy was thrilled!
However you decide to sew yours it will be perfect.
Please thank your daughter for her service from a Navy mom.

cej#2, Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on "Contact Us" and describe in the email the information you need. They are real friendly at QIAD and should be able to help you. I looked around the website and didn't see any yardage requirements for quilts. Let us know what they wrote back.

Re: HELP
Just had to stop in and say I'm proud of your daughter for being a Marine. I for one know that is no easy task. Tell her THANK YOU for serving our country.
I made a fleece Marine throw for our son! I used a plain black for the back and sewed them together then turned it. Did an outline of the emblem and stitched around the outside edge about 1/2 inch from edge. Our son love his. It is always on his couch!
