Does anyone know where I can find approx. prices for and/or sell old sewing machines? I have a 1970's model singer (not antique but still functional and in great working order) and a Baby Lock thats not quite 2 years old. (I'm looking into a great new Husqvarna!)

Go to these site on ebay and get a feel for what these folks are selling their machine for. Good Luck.

There is someone here, I think maybe Sewsew, who collects old machines. She could give you good advice I think.

I use a '57 Singer. I love it and have had it repaired twice.. I told the guy to make sure he keeps one on hand just in case mine ever becomes Non repairable.

Amie - I didn't find a serial number on the singer but it's a model 518 Stylist special zig-zag sewing machine. I have the instruction manual and accessories (different feet & pattern discs). The Baby Lock is a Creative Pro Model BL37. It's less than 2 years old but I think they changed it shortly after because now the creative pro has a different model number. Any help you could give me would be great.

Thanks so much for all the input everyone!!

If you have any more ideas, please let me know!

This is a site where they sell older Singers specifically - maybe they can give you a price.

I have several old singers but mine are antiques (1928, early electric and treadle machines) so I really can't give you much advice on a 1970's model.

As Amie suggested you need to check by the serial number to find out anything about your machine. My suggestion is to take it to a reputable repair shop and see if they can give you any advice on what it is worth. You could also check out ebay and see if there are any like yours selling, watch the bidding and see what they go for.

I have an antique Singer Model # 24=20. I just posted a picture of the manual in the chit chat section. I just went to the site listed below and it's not there. I e-mailed them and asked if they had any information.

I was just pm'ed another website so I'll check here also:
