Charm packs

Post by piecemaker1 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 12:03 pm

What do you ladies do with Charm packs? My sis in law and I went to the LQS and found the most beautiful fabric. They had charm packs and companion fabric. We each bought a charm pack and some of the fabric. But now we don't know what to do. Any ideas?

Ohhhh I learned a great quick quilt called tossed nines from a workshop given by Pat (Eleanor's sister). Use charm squares and a contrasting fabric cut in same sized squares. I used black but have seen white & other solids. Sew into 9-patch blocks (example row 1: charm, black, charm ; row 2: black, charm, black ; row 3: charm, black, charm) Once all blocks are done just cut in half vertically and horizontally. You will have 4 smaller squares from each 9 patch. Then sew these into a quilt. So simple and turns out really cute.
I'll try to add some pics in a bit to show you mine.
Hope this helps:)

I have made square in a square, 9 patch, TwinSisters(in El's book) and had fun with them. I did not know what these were when someone sent them to me. I was so afraid, that I mailed them back to these people. How ignorant I was about what they were. I knew I had not signed up for anything right then, so it scared me, since I really did not know. I wasn't doing very good at the time with my blood, and I really did not have the energy at that time to return. I trust these people understood. I really feel ashamed about that now.

I've made a table runner using charm squares from a pattern by Anka's Treasures:

I've also made a tote bag using this pattern:

I just love charm packs! :)

Squeel - your quilt is lovely.
I just made a tote last week for my BFF using charms. She loved it.
