97 and still counting

I thought I was DONE with this little critters, but I'm still 15 short. Then there is all those little seams to press. And I'm just getting started on this quilt! What was I thinking? lol

It's "Lattice Work" from QIAD. It's really a gorgeous quilt, but you cut a lot of little pieces to give it the illusion of curved piecing. I just got out the calculator and added up everything and there are 929 pieces in the design and it's only 50" by 66". One block pattern has 27 pieces in each one and another block pattern calls for 17 in each one, so it really adds up.

But that's okay ... I like the challenge of a new design and this one fits the bill! lol

I commend your dedication. The first thing I look at in a quilt block is how many pieces it takes and how large are those pieces. Piecing is not my favorite thing to do so I don't think I could ever tackle anything like that.

I'm going to take it slow and try not to do something stupid. I'm afraid if I don't do it step-by-step like the directions say, I could be in trouble with all these little bits and parts. I've got all the different pieces in ziplocks and they are labeled like, "small triangle in x-block - cut 112". And if I stay organized and not get ahead of myself, I should be okay.

One block a day is my goal and I'm going to keep a little photo journal of my progress so I won't be tempted to wander off to another project. That's the plan anyway. lol
