Has anyone made a yelow brick road baby quilt? I am tryin to make ybr but number of blocks dont match up with chart, in pattern for baby size. If I follow chart not enough blocks.
Has anyone had this problem??? wondering if is just my pattern mistake..

I would like to know too. I have this patten to make also. So will be waiting for info too.

I've made several YBR but in lap size. However, tonight I will be cutting out a baby size. I will look at my pattern and see if I notice anything.

Yes - I made a yellow brick road with our quilt club - almost 3 years ago. Most of us made lab size ones. One or two made baby-size - but no one mentioned any troubles.
With yellow brick road - you can turn and twist the blocks any way you want - you don't have to line them up the same way as on the finished pattern.
I had fun doing just that when I made one in red/white/blue for my son & his family - he's in the Army in Texas.
I just put the 3 different blocks in piles and mismatched them and turned them because my goal was not to have any two same fabrics touch. Since I used fat-quarters - it was fun to play with the blocks!

SFOQUILTER thanks for any help. After I have all sewn ready ,they dont match chart for baby quilt. If I match chart with blocks printed (layout)for baby quilt not enough. Not even if I match to big chart just for baby size. Both are different...layouts..
They says is for beginners guess I am not even a beginner..

ShellyGSC thanks for info .. guess just mix an match do your own thing .. I was trying to follow chart layout..You pay for pattern should be able to follow . I will email pattern maker.

Oh, I agree. I never match the finished blocks to the diagram. It says on the pattern to arrange as you see fit. You just need to make sure you have the correct NUMBER of blocks. I only use that chart to tell me how many rows across and how many down. That's why this pattern is so great. I looks different for everyone because everyone arranges differently.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write. I'm sorry that the
layout was confusing - I have corrected that problem for future
patterns.

When you arrange your blocks - just arrange them in a random manner -
and then check to make sure the colors are evenly distributed. (usually
one fabric really stands out - and if you distribute that strong color,
the rest of them will look fine)

Grammy2 hope this helps you .The only other thing I found out was dont use directional fabric. I used fabric with bears on it was hard to keep faces straight looking at you.Takes time so same fabric does not touch if that is what you want.. I''ll try to post picture when done . Wish me luck...
