sells fabric by the square foot... it is about $2 a square foot. If a fat quarter is $2.50 and I can't do math which is the better deal?

Consider an FQ approx 18 in by 21 in. 18 x 21 = 378 sq. in.
144 sq in. = 1 sq. ft. 387 sq in / 144 = 2.63 sq. ft.
So, a FQ is approx 2 1/2 sq feet. That would make the cost of an FQ using the price of $2.00 per sq ft, approx. $5. Sounds like the fat quarters are the better deal.
I think I did the math right, someone else, pls verify.

Fat quarter (18 x 22) is definitely better deal then square foot (12 x 12)
