I need twelve 12.5 inch background blocks for an applique project...
how much yardage do I need?

Fabric is only 40- 44 inches wide so you are only going to get three blocks across. And if you need 12 blocks, I would buy 2 yds of fabric. You will have some left off for your stash. Marge in Pa.
