To the DJ Group: Where are you posting your pictures of your DJ blocks and quilt tops? I am new to the group and can not find them.

Nadine2007 Loved your comments about your Civil War Love Lertters Quilt; I am doing my dj as a bom with 8 blocks a month and 2 triangles per month and it will take 2 years. I am 7 months behind and august is just around the corner and then i will be 8 months behind. but i am going to get started. I am still getting up my nerve.

Carole: How is putting the rows together of ther dj coming?

Thank you for the website thatquilt tutorials. I am finding it helpful.

Hey Jody, I only have a couple of rows done and they went together well. I put them aside for the time being to get some Christmas sewing done. I spent about 6 months working on them constantly and so I needed a little break. Will get back to the soon.

Carole

PS Have fun meeting with Mary this coming week. You are going to just love her and Bill. Lucky girl that you live in the same area. I am so jealous.

Mary and I had a great time at Starbucks and talking over the dear jane quilt blocks and chit chat about our lives. In honor of our first meeting, I completed my first dear jane block, an easy one A6. I made so many beginner errors that you would never guess that I have been sewing quilts since 1984.

Great news came my way today, my sister in Oregon, has been listening to me talk up the dear jane quilt blocks for months now and has now started it as a bom. She too is doing hers in browns. She has not received her first bom yet but it is on the way.

Hope you are making progress with your dear Janes. I feel that I will finally set a goal and make weekly progress now.

Jody, it was so fun meeting you yesterday and making a new quilty friend! Your block was beautiful - and I believe it was also MY first block! And how fun to have your sis be your very own DJ buddy! You can both go crazy together! lol! Maybe I'll drop into the sewing group at the library one of these Mondays now that I know you! And check out the sew-in section of this forum! Lots of new friends over there! Well, check out all of the forum. Lots of great info and tips, and recipes, and books, and I always drop in on the Supper Club to see what's for dinner. Happy sewing!

i have now completed block A1; good awakening to foundation piecing. i am a slow foundation piecer; had to relearn how to do it; it took me 5.5 hours to complete block A1 of the dear jane quilt.

my sister in Oregon has started a blog about her dear jane quilt making and her adventures in sewing. she has block A1 complete and she machined pieced hers rather than foundation piecing.

JODY, I never foundaction pieced any of my blocks (so far, anyway), but just pieceed them. When I get back into Jane (she's sitting in the middle of the floor of my sewing room right now!) I'll have to relearn all my techniques I devised last winter! She's a devious one and each block is a new learning experience! lol!

Mary, your dear jane blocks were so evenly sewn that I thought they were foundation pieced. Wow, you are good! I can hardly wait for you to start sewing dear jane blocks again; I would love to hear your progress.

Right now, I am entertaining my granddaughters for a sleep-over. Mairin worked on her horse embroidery quilt blocks and she did excellent with only a smidgen of help from me. I entertained Katie, the 5 year-old, with watercolor crayons, watercolor markers, and watercolor pencils. They are all a delight to work with and my Katie was ignited with artist's passion to produce lots of masterpieces in art. We had an excellent time. When Mairin rejoined us, she too was taken with the art medium and created a perfectly drawn hand. I thought that was quite an accomplishment.

Wishing all the Quilters in this forum a day of delight.
