Kids love bright colors so you did good! I want to make one. Did you have any trouble matching seams when you sewed the snowball blocks to the 54 40 or Fight block?

Grammy - what a beautiful, colorful quilt for a baby!!! Will you do another Tennessee Waltz in different colors? I LOVE that pattern. I was just thinking about it this morning and wondering when I'll be able to get started on mine. It's down a ways on my 'quilts to do' list unfortunately. Yours is just great. Love the elephants, too.

This is wierd. Now that I look at this quilt I realize I re-arranged the blocks and it really isn't a Tennessee Waltz anymore. Think I was trying to make it so the top and bottom were the same. The wall hanging was too small and the crib size was longer than I wanted. So I guess that is why I arranged the blocks like I did. It has always reminded me of a football in the center which I didn't like, but figured the baby wouldn't care. So don't go by mine when you are looking for the Tennessee Waltz.

Guess I was waltzing to a different tune!!!!

I figured this out just now when I pulled out the book to answer Evie's question about matching seams. I don't recall any problems. Sue shows how to sew the blocks together on pages 26 and 27.

Oh Grammy. .I like the arrangement. And it is perfect for a little boy, especially a Republican little boy. If anyone has any of this pattern please post so we can get some ideas.
Have Fun,

naniyosie...

The pattern is Tennessee Waltz. It's the QIAD book by Sue Bouchard. I just arranged the blocks a little differently. There are some beautiful samples in the book. My favorite is the lavender one on the first page inside.
