I think you can't have too much fabric. I am doing a Mother's Day shop hop and I find a little something at each shop!

Being a newbie (1st quilt class 06/07), I didn't think I had much of a stash (leftovers from the lesson quilt and 3 little throws) and yet I had several 8" squares of Pink fabric to donate to the guild I just joined. That felt so good!

I started buying exact amounts per patterns and then changed my mind about one or the other. Ever happen to anyone else????? Ha! This has led me to now need a bookcase type setup for storage. I had so little space that I would use ziplock gallon or 2 gallon bags to store fabric/pattern/thread and hang it on a plastic hanger in the closet just waiting for my attention. Scraps where done this way also as I kept this bag by my cutting board ready to add to.

There are so may ideas about sorting into colors, scrap sizes, themes and storing hidden or viewable. WOW! It's intimidating to see some of these sewing rooms that look like the LQS. I'll probably outgrow my 'system' 100 times before the end. I am going to quit thinking about all of this and get back to my quilting. Ha!

Hello! I, too, am a fabric collector big time! I have pieces that I love and don't want to cut into - I just take them out and look at them and feel them once in a while. My stash has become mostly scraps with a few larger pieces, so it's a good thing I enjoy scrap quilts and string piecing. My binders are so full of projects yet to be done and there is so little time!

I don't have a lot of fabric, but I am finding that I like to get fabric for a project I have in mind even before I finish other projects! I know we all do that but even just yesterday I told myself no more purchases until I finish two projects. Well I had to go to the LQS to drop off a top and back to get quilted and what did I do? I bought a pattern and tried to get the fabric but my son was ready to leave. So I got the pattern and will have to go back to get the fabric for it!

The pattern is a really cute 3 dimensional kitty cat. I want to make it for my son in the same colors as our gray tabby. Picking the fabrics for that will be fun! She has so many spots and stripes!

Hi welcome to the world of fabric. I have not been sewing long but love fabric and notions. I'm not really comfortable just picking a fabric so E's fabric is good for me because they work together and are really good fabrics carol may

I went to a talk by Ricki Tims. He said if you call your stash a collection you don't feel so bad about not using it!
