I am fortunate enough to have an extra bedroom/sewing room. That way projects can stay out for awhile. AND, I can blast my music!

I have a sewing area with one machine up in the bedroom. Then I have my antique Singer in the dining room (it's in a small cabinet and sews like a dream. )It's only 86 years old.(a year older than I am). And sometimes I put another machine on the dining table soI can set it to do something different. I'm trying to figure out how to put one in the bathroom, but it's small so I guess I will have to forget that idea. I take my featherweight when I go to my son's house, no use wasting good time, Of course I usually get stuck with some mending while there so don't always get a lot of sewing done. It just occured to me I could put one on the kitchen cabinet, but maybe I better think that through........?????....

I'm with Kadie. I love to use the dining room table. This week I moved in an old sewing machine cabinet, put it next to the table and used it as a presseing table - just enough space for pressing board and iron. I could also turn the little TV in the kitchen my way and caught up on all of the stuff on the dvr as I sewed. Even went to a few videos of El's to answer questions I had.

Now I have a room with a sewing table and a cutting/pressing table, but for a long time it was the dining room table. Poor table has the scars to prove it.

I took the DS's and the DD's rooms when they both left home and we knocked out the wall so I have a nice sz room. When the kids were at home, I used the dining room table. That was sure an inconvenience because I cooked every night and had to clear off the table and out things away. Next day I would get everything back out. Back and forth. Poor DD said she barely got out of the driveway when I started taking the sewing stuff into her old room. LOL Sad but almost true. I actually let her get around the block. Had to make sure she kept going. LOL Just kidding. This is the Mom that cried when the kid would move out. Even got the youngest Son to move back for 10 months before he got married. LOL I know, I'm a nutcase.

I have a sewing/craft room and a computer in there for my photos, digital scrapbooking and watching dvds. It is a great space but I often drag everything out to the dining room so that I will be in the middle of everything. My girls are both off to college and I would rather be where I can chat with my husband. The mess does not bother him :)

I have a bedroom set up so I can leave the machine up and we built some shelves for storage, but the bed is still there and I have to put things up often when the kids come. I have two children who come every month or so and spend a night or two with spouses and kids. But, I don't mind cleaning up as we really enjoy their visits. I set up my cutting on the dining room table so I do a bit of walking but that is good for me. :)

I have a smaller spare bedroom I made into my sewing/craft/quilting room...L-shaped sewing table with drawers, 2 tall cabinets with doors and shelves and a large fold-down cutting table with 3 big drawers....I could use a little bit larger room now but for now will make do, LOL. I am happy with it and have my TV in there and a telephone! No more jumping up and down to answer the phone while I'm sewing. LOL.
