Homespun: I love the cotton sateen. Made my first wall quit with a beautiful mauve, with matching fabrics. I don't see it much around here, but I love the look, feel and how well it does up in quilts

Cotton sateen works well in quilts. It gives a sheen. I prefer it for applique, personally, because it makes nice shiny water and/or air. If the entire quilt is done in sateen, that would be very pretty.

Cathy, qltsbme and Pilot2b - now that really makes me want to experiment with my fabric immediately, but I had to leave most of my fabric at home to go work in Stockholm this week. I can't wait to go back home next week to try it out!

I'm thinking of using it as the background fabric for a wild goose chase quilt (where I'd also use it for the geese), and mix it with several different blues.

Sounds lovely! A trip to Stockholm sounds so involved to me but, then again, I am in Minnesota, not Sweden.

Have a great trip. Is it for business?

qltsbme, it's for business. I go here a lot, sometimes even every second week, so I almost have a "home away from home" here.
