OOPS...forgot to say welcome to crazy4quiltz. Glad you are here. I'm with you girl when it comes to machine quilting. When I first started this I was going to be a purest and do EVERYTHING by hand. That lasted for about one block. I would probably still be on my first quilt. Although, I do love to hand quilt small projects. Find it very relaxing.

Anyway...welcome to the forum. It's a blast.

Krazy - I'm in the same boat as you. I'd love to have a long arm but it would be way too expensive since I would have to buy another house for the LA to have a place to live - LOL. DH isn't going for it.

Just decided that Nadine2007 was right I should get started here. We had a lot of fun at the Quilt Camp in Julian in May, so expect to meet a lot of new people here. I will have a FG in tomorrows mail for Eleanor.

Oh, I would LOVE to go to quilt camp in Julian - that is my dream vacation! Don't see it ever happening, however!

It is a little tourist town in the mountains just east of San Diego. Known for its mines in the old days. And a stage coach stop. Now is a tourist stop with a lot of little shops and for apples (and of course our El's cabin in the woods). It is somewhere almost all of San Diego county goes in October or November to get our fix of "The Holidays". Lots of weekend cabins as it is close to some state parks that are beautiful in the winter. We don't get much winter here in Southern Cal. so people migrate to Julian for our little bit of winter. In her book "Quick Trips" there is a picture of her Bear Paws Ranch on page 43. That is pretty much what all of Julian looks like.
Have Fun,
