I did one in El's class last year. corning and I bought the kits to do the watercolor looking one in the book. I can't remember the name right now. Well, the kit was lap size and we decided we want it queen size, so we have been collecting purples/blues/pinks ever since. I was going to actually do the cutting at night after we got back to the hotel, but I was so tired I was afraid to make that first cut. I carried it to Paducah with me BOTH times. I swear to put it near the top of my to do list. After I do some more baby gifts. Just returned from my niece's shower. She is due in four weeks, but looks ready to go any time. She said she needs some baby shower gifts and asked if I would make her some like I gave her. So I guess I'll have to do that first.

Thanks y'all. Eleanor's instructions are sooo easy to follow that this one goes together easier than you'd think. Give it a try.
This is one beautiful quilt & I enjoyed making it (after I got over being nervous about all those strips & cutting them correctly).

All of these quilts are just GORGEOUS!!!!!

I've read the instructions for this pattern also and am quite intimidated by them. I'm glad to hear others were also. I think I'll copy the instructions and try Cindy's suggestion. Then I will just "do it". LOL

Please post a picture, you know we all love pictures. Again, these quilts are very nice colors.
Have Fun,

Oasis, that is what I did. Used Cindy's idea and made a copy. I marked this as I went along and it was fine. I now have the first part of the top done. I'll start the borders this afternoon. I'm so excited to get it done, I'm not stopping. It looks so great! I can't believe I said that. I usually don't like my quilts. This is the best thing since the log cabin that I have done.

Yes that is the pattern, Quick Trip. It is from Eleanor's book called "Quick Trip Quilts". You can purchase it here. I did a while ago and when I looked through the pages I fell in love with a quilt that Sue Bouchard made. The name is 'United We Stand'. I had to make one for my son. I posted a picture in the photo section. These are not hard to make. For sure if I can follow the directions and make it anyone can! Give it a try you will love it.
Happy sewing and quilting,
Kathy
