Re: Charm packs
I love charm packs. There are so many charm-friendly quilt patterns available and what I really like about them is that each pack is a collection of colors or prints that compliment each other. For me that is crucial because it is impossible for me to put together 30 or 40 different fabrics that don't clash.
And with the 5" squares, the majority of measuring and cutting is done for you so you can put together a baby quilt, table topper, or lap-sized quilt in no time. You can make a great project by just adding one or two neutral fabrics.
I made this with charms of Urban Indigo by Modo fabrics and some white-on-white I had on hand. Easy peasy ...

Re: Charm packs
These quilts are all so pretty. I have not yet found a pattern for the pack that I bought. But I did find this information.
1/4 yard = 8 squares
1 fat qtr = 12 squares
1/2 yard = 24 squares
3/4 yard = 40 squares
1 yard = 56 squares
I thought this information would be helpful if I need to add additional fabrics to the charm pack I already have.

Thanks for the info, piecemaker, that will come in handy for me with the charm swaps. I always forget how much fabric I'm going to need.
Also, the charm quilt pictures are beautiful!

Piecemaker ... thank you for that great info on squares vs yardage. That's something I would never have sat down and figured out and now I don't have to thanks to you. That's going to come in real handy in the future!
I also had never heard of nickel quilts or even the term "nickel" when it came to quilts. Now I have something else to google.
