Hi Rommel,
The YBR was a challenge for me because it is so random. I had always made more "planned" quilts, and the YBR comes out more like a crazy patched quilt. Making a couple of these actually helped me relax and have more fun with quilting. I now actually really enjoy laying all the blocks out and playing around to get a nice balance of colors and patterns. Part of the joy of quilting is tweaking the pattern around and making something very unique. That's my rebellious side coming out!

You *can* use directional fabrics on the YBR...if you don't care about what direction they lie in...LOL! I put a wallpaper stripe in my last YBR and it turned out great.

I have all the strips cut out and ready to cut them into the sets the instructions says but I'm a little leary as my pattern does not have the up to date instructions! Keeping my fingers crossed everything turns out cut wise!!!

Rommel - thanks for contacting the publisher of the pattern!
Our quilt group pretty much did what she said.

and I agree with SFOquilter - everyone's quilt looked so different and not just because they used different fabric and color choices. We had fun in our church's parish hall. We have long tables we pushed together and each quilter was able to put her blocks out on them. We all went around the room helping to re-arrange the blocks so that the colors - especially the strong ones - got distributed evenly. That was so much fun and a real learning experience for the newer quilters!

Don't worry about the cutting instructions. They are all correct.
