If you haven't read any of Jennifer Chiaverini's Elm Creek Novel series that is a must! They are absolutely great. Also Earlene Fowler is another author who is wonderful. Her books are mysteries. Their websites are:

April's Tulips is on my nightstand...I will finish it tonight. I have really enjoyed it. I will have to check out "the Quilt that walked to Golden" I have finished all of the Elm Creek books, however I was disappointed with the New Years Quilt I thought it appeared to be written in a hurry and re-hashed too much of the previous story lines for readers who had read her previous books. It would be great though for someone who is a new reader to the series.

Sadiedaisy, yes The wedding ring is the first book in the series. I believe that Endless Chain is next, then Lovers Knot and the last one so far is Touching Stars. There is supposed to be a new one coming out soon. They are great.

Re: have you read this book?
The Quilt that Walked to Golden is more of a quilt history, with stories from settlers of how important quilts were to them, and how/why they were made, how they were used during the long walk or ride to the settler's final destinations, how quilting helped financially, etc.
It's great because you can read just a little bit at a time.

I just got "Hidden in Plain View" and hope to enjoy this one also. I need more ideas of books about quilting because they are really nice to read.

Re: have you read this book?
I have read several of the Elm Creek books and they are very easy to read and hard to put down but I had to put them down for a while so that I could catch up on other thing like sewing projects and getting my house organized but mainly I like to read them in the summer when Im relaxing on my deck or in the swing.

I love to read. Recently I found Jennifer Chiaverini's books. I love them. I read one and then looked for otherd and found I was reading them out of order so I've just begun the the first one " A Quilters Aprentice." It's a great read.
