Here is a picture of a quilt that I made. I saw the pattern on a TV show, can't remember exactly but, I will look through my notes on my quilts and see if I noted which show, etc.
It is called "Scrap Happy". The concept is that you sew strips together and create a scrap piece about 21" x 14". Then you sub cut
this piece into blocks, pair the blocks right sides together, with solid blocks. Draw a line from corner to corner diagonally. Then stitch 1/4" on each side of that line. Cut apart, press each open - now you have two beautiful and colorful multi colored block.
You arrange them and there you have a beautiful scrappy quilt.

Also as you can see, the border is made up of the other leftovers from you pieced strips. I had so much fun making this quilt. I know I will make another one some day, you really don't have to have a printed pattern for this one. You just get to be creative.
They suggested that you use different size strips, from 1 inch to 2 /2 inches.. Hope this gives you some ideas.
