Photo quilt for Mo
I think I may have asked this once before but I can't find where I did. How would I go about finding instructions (as easy as possible please) to make a quilt with photos of our grandson and family and friends? He is graduating from high school and headed to college. I have my laptop and I have a good printer. I am not sure if you print on fabric, or what. I would really appreciate any advise and to where I start. Thank you

Not too long ago, I had the same question. I purchased Transfer Magic Inkjet transfer paper and the results were great BUT because you have to iron it on the fabric, the photos come out reversed. There is a company that makes transfer fabric-the photo is printed right on the fabric sheets. Problem was that there wasn't any in the store I went to and thus, I used transfer sheets. I susally shop JoAnn's-am a dedicated Coupon shopper. Now they have the transfer paper, but I don't plan on any projects requiring it just now. Hope this helps.

I have used June Tailor Computer Printer Fabric sheets. You just put them in your ink jet printer and the photo prints on the fabric sheets just like you are using paper. There is a backing paper on the fabric sheets that makes it run through the printer easily. Afterwards you just tear off that backing sheet and your photo is on the fabric. Comes in white or muslin color. They may carry some here at QIAD. I believe there are some other brands...maybe it is called Printed Treasures or something like that. Do a search here on the Shop Online and I bet you will find some. Good luck! What a nice gift you are making!

You should be able to go to your local printer and have it done.

I went to my local quilt store and they had the fabric blocks to print the photos on. You will also need to use an ink jet printer as lazer jet does not work well for this project. There is something about how the ink prints on the fabric.
